What are my expectations after TEDxHWZ in relation to my topic?

Performing a TEDx talk is a unique experience – one that brings excitement, engagement, and reflection all at once. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my perspective on the topic of “The power of imperfection”. When I leave the stage at TEDxHWZ, I will be filled with a sense of accomplishment, but also curiosity about what impact my talk will have and what thoughts will be left in the minds of the audience.

Shifting the perception of Imperfection

We live in a world that constantly pushes for perfection, whether it’s in our personal or professional lives. In my talk, I want to challenge the ideal of perfection and its narrative and invite people to reframe their views on imperfection – not as something to hide or be ashamed of, but as a source of power. The concept of embracing imperfection isn’t just a philosophical one – it’s something deeply personal that affects the way we see ourselves and others. I expect to spark deeper thought and reflection about the values in our economic and social system.

Creating meaningful conversations

I highlight that authenticity and vulnerability are often hidden behind a facade of perfection. I expect that my story will spark conversations and change the way people approach their own and others’ imperfections. I hope that my story will resonate with people who have struggled with their own imperfections and stimulate open, honest dialogue. Whether it’s through one-on-one discussions, online communities, or new opportunities to talk about related topics, I look forward to engaging with people who feel connected.

Inspiring others to speak out

I also hope that people leave my talk feeling empowered to reject the pressure to be perfect and find peace in their imperfections and failures. There is immense positive energy in openly sharing our imperfections, and I expect that some people who watched my talk will feel inspired to share their own stories. Whether it’s through writing, speaking, or living more authentically. My greatest hope is to contribute to a cultural shift towards embracing our imperfections.

Personal growth

Preparing and performing this talk requires me to reflect deeply, and I’m excited to see how this will evolve in my personal and professional life in the coming months. Speaking publicly about imperfection is one thing but living it out in daily life is another. I expect that I will grow, both personally and professionally, as I move forward, knowing that embracing my imperfections is a journey, not a destination.
